Today we have Two Tips for Indie Authors and they will work for you no matter what your genre is or even if you write in more than one. The very first tip is that you should take advantage of every opportunity you come across (That does not cost you money or just feels a little hinky), that will help you gain more exposure for you and your books. Our tip this week is to add your books to https://myindiebookshelf.com. Another indie author has created a full-blown website with books, author services, arc and beta reader signup, submissions page and even a Bookclub listing. It is an excellent site with over 1400 indie published books so far.
Of course, if you are new to the game you could always check out my beginners guide to book marketing. There is a link below to the Google Play version or you can check out the Universal Book Link I created for it by CLICKING HERE. Inside this book I talk about several different places on the web you might consider starting an account, filling out the profiles and start talking about books, and your book too.
The second tip is one you might not have considered. It is publishing your eBook with Google Play Books through their Google Partner program. It is, of course, free to join. Yes, you will need a Gmail account to sign-up. You will also have to fill out the Tax form and connect your bank account for direct deposit. You will get a Book Catalog page where all of your titles will be listed. They accept ePub formats for easy uploading. The program even allows you to connect your series books for future promotional opportunities. Really good feature. It usually takes about 24 to 48 hours for the eBooks to appear on their catalog page.
And finally, for those who would like to give it a try. Google is still offering FREE conversion of your ePub to audio. It is done with AI, and you do have a choice of several different voices. You can listen to what the passages will sound like and it will allow you to train the program on how to say special words. It will take a little time for you to go through each chapter, decide what you would like it to say and which areas not to record. Once it has completed the conversion (again anywhere from 24 to 48 hours) you will be able to download the entire audio file onto your computer.
Just as an FYI: you can take pieces of the audio and use them with your marketing videos!
