FWA- Clay County Florida Style – The Florida Writers Association is a state-wide organization that encourages writers to help writers. They have the main website at https://www.floridawriters.org/ which has the Royal Palm Awards, supports local chapters in each county, a podcast and much more. They offer various membership levels with different fees attached. It is always a great idea to join some of these state and national writing associations, unions and guilds for support, education and networking opportunities. To that end we have updated our Writer’s Resources page, the Local Writers Group Page as well as National Organization page.

Featuring FWA- Clay County Florida Writers Group

This group has gone through some changes recently. It was run for many years by Maureen Jung and had a website and Facebook page. The new Leader, Lou Pugliese runs a more tight-knit group, for now. He has a newsletter that he sends out to his members for upcoming workshops and meetings. They are scheduled once a month in various places around the Clay county area including some of the libraries and even writer’s homes. To sign up to participate with this group please email Lou at: lou_gwu@yahoo.com

Remember, this is a small group and do not have any funds to pay for speakers. It would be a great opportunity for those who are just starting out as speakers to get some credits build up for your portfolio!
