Stumbling into Tumblr

2 min read

I have published my latest digital marketing for writers book and sent it far and wide. That means I have published it with Ingram Sparks. It is available on my on bookstore as I am a book seller as well as a book writer. In the last several weeks I have been updating each of my social media pages including Tumblr. That’s right I went stumbling into Tumblr once again. Apparently it was owned by Yahoo! for a number of years but just before the Pandemic it was purchased by Automatic.com for a measly $3 million. I had a Tumblr page for a couple of years when we first started traveling in the old RV. Sadly, I never really got in traction with it. Supposedly it is making a comeback with the younger, disenfranchised artists including quite a few independently published writers.

Well I say, ‘good on ya’ and subscribe, love, and comment on all of my posts too.

The platform is basically the very same as before where you post things in the main area that is copied over to your Tumblr website area. You can still use it as a website by adding your social media links and pages with information about all the books you have already published and where to buy them. I am trying to gain some traction on the site and tried to schedule posts twice a day for 30 days in a row. Since, that ran out I have only been able to do sporadic postings and visits. It is a social media platform much like Instagram and Pinterest only you get your feed one at a time in an endlessly snaking line down the page. Some of it is quite interesting and I am sure if I stick to it on a semi-regular basis I just may get some followers and readers in the future.
